USAG DEV Competition Team

Our USAG DEV Competition team focuses on the skills needed to lead into an optional gymnastic career. The Developmental Program is a highly structured program that builds on strength, conditioning, flexibility, and progressions.

Compulsory Levels 3 - 5

4 hours, 3 days a week

The routines performed at the compulsory level require precision in performance hitting all poses correctly and elegantly. There are required mastery of skills in order to progress to the next level. Our Level 3 - 5 team travels in and out of the state of Iowa during their competition season which starts in early January and runs through the State Championships in March.

Optional Level Gymnastics Level 6 - 10

4 hours, 4 days a week

Optional level gymnasts have received qualifying scores out of the compulsory levels. These athletes are now able to make up their own routines and showcase skills that are strong for their body type and strength. This is where the fun routines you see in the Olympics and World Competitions start. The season for the Optional Team runs from early January through the State Championships where athletes level 8 - 10 can qualify for the Regional Competition in late March. Level 9 and 10 athletes can qualify at Regionals to attend the National competition in April.
