Team Track Developmental Program

Please note, these classes are meant for those students looking to enter competitions in the future.
These classes need coach approval before entering.

Embers

Ages 4 - 6 years

60 minute class 1-2 times a week

This class is structured to develop skills geared toward competition level skills. The athletes will continue to work on basic gymnastics skills including cartwheels, handstands and bridges on floor, front supports and circling skills on bars, balance skills including jumps and hops on beam, along with rolling skills and dismounts. This is a girls only class in which the girls will be exposed to the strength required to do many of the skills they will be working on in a more structured class. On vault, focused skills are running and punching on the springboard, dive rolling, and flat falls.  On bars, the students will work on casting, along with forward and backward circling skills to develop into dismounts. Time during class is spent in the kindergym along with the large gym facility. More conditioning is built into this class structure to prepare the athletes for expectations of a team track setting.  If competition is the direction you think you want your child to go, this is a great way to ease them into the transition.

Sparkles

Ages 4 - 6 years

90 minute class twice a week

This class focuses on basic body shaping required to do clean, safe progressions. The focus of this class is as much skill development as it is body awareness of the correct shapes needed to do skills safely. This class will work on perfecting basic shapes like tuck, pike, straddle, and splits. There is more strength training involved to develop the body control needed for the upper level skills to come.

Little Sparks

Ages 5 - 7 years

2 hour class twice a week

This class will begin working on shaping for the harder skills like limbering and handsprings. They will also begin working on swings and basic kip shapes on bars. On vault, athletes will begin to focus on the running techniques to develop explosive runs on vault. Flipping is introduced to assist with body and air awareness. There is more focus on conditioning in body shapes during this class to again stress the need for safe progressions in gymnastics.

Fireballs

Ages 5 - 8 years

2 hour class three times a week

This class they will begin to work on the skills needed to move to team. There is a focus on strength and flexibility every practice, along with skill development.  The skills these athletes learn are part of the Level 3 routines they will be competing at the next step. Focus is still on technique with straight legs and pointed toes, along with body shaping to develop balanced and strong athletes.

XCEL Team Track

Ages 5 - 8 years

90 minute class 1-2 times a week

This class is for competitive students who choose to work on the XCEL competition circuit. This class follows Embers and builds on the skills necessary to compete in a slightly less rigorous competition atmosphere. Athletes will work on many of the same skills mentioned above, but may not progress through those skills as quickly as their DP counterparts. This track also allows for more flexibility in your weekly schedule, if that is needed.
